Description
Using Think Alouds to Promote Rigor focuses on how teachers can leverage meta-cognition to explicitly model for students how to think, solve, or write. In this workshop, teachers will analyze examples of strong think alouds and get a chance to practice planning and executing a think aloud within the context of provided case studies.
Note: This workshop was formerly titled "Using Models and Think Alouds to Promote Rigor"
2 hour workshop, offered online or in-person. For in-person, you must book a total of at least 3 workshops for a full day of PD.
Learning Objectives
Plan and practice using a think aloud to explicitly model for students how to think, solve, or write.
Plan and practice framing and debriefing the think aloud to ensure students actively learn from the model.
