Description
Responding to Data Equitably focuses on how to use data in service of creating equitable and inclusive learning experiences for all students, especially for marginalized groups. This session is grounded in the principles for equity-centered data analysis and equips teachers with the knowledge, skills, and mindsets to respond to data with students at the center. Teachers have the opportunity to explore the equity-centered principles in action and apply them through practice with case studies.
2 hour workshop, offered online or in-person. For in-person, you must book a total of at least 3 workshops for a full day of PD.
Learning Objectives
Identify types of bias that can occur during provided data analysis scenarios
Practice identifying bright spots in data to counter negativity bias
Practice addressing context when analyzing data to counter availability bias
Practice analyzing data by subgroups to ensure marginalized groups are meaningfully included
