Description
Deepening Connections with Students and Families focuses on nurturing strong relationships within the classroom. In this workshop, participants will explore strategies to counter bias in order to ensure that our classrooms are places that honor students and their experiences. Participants will also practice active listening and learn new strategies for connecting with students and families to ensure a welcoming and inclusive start to the school year.
2 hour workshop, offered online or in-person. For in-person, you must book a total of at least 3 workshops for a full day of PD.
Learning Objectives
Practice “active listening” while engaging in a 1:1 conversation with students and/or their caregivers
Identify a strategy to use to get to know their students and families within the first weeks of school
