Tapping the Talent We Already Have: Memphis-Shelby County Schools and Relay

Like many districts around the country, Memphis-Shelby County Schools is contending with a teacher shortage. But far from seeing only a challenge, they also see the opportunity: to create a pipeline of effective teachers sourced from their district community, well-prepared and excited about the chance to teach Memphis-area students. They are also want to increase the number of teachers of color, to ensure every student learns both from educators who look like them and those with diverse experiences.
