National Principals Academy
The National Principals Academy is a fellowship program that will prepare you, whether you are an aspiring principal or a principal supervisor, to become an instructional and cultural leader — not merely a building manager.
The National Principals Academy approach emphasizes individualized, job-embedded practice. You will learn how to analyze student data, effectively support educators, and create positive school culture. You’ll review your performance coaching and developing educators with Relay faculty members, practice new approaches, and immediately apply what you learn to your own school contexts.
Our signature one-year fellowship program prepares current principals to become transformational leaders.
PRINCIPAL SUPERVISORS ACADEMY
Principal supervisors join with their teams of principals to participate in a unique, yearlong opportunity to learn from expert supervisors and receive targeted feedback on their work managing principals across networks of schools in this program.
INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
In 2017-18, Relay launched a new program designed specifically to build the instructional leadership skills of assistant principals, teacher leaders, and instructional coaches. In order to attend this intensive, one-week program, team members must have principals and/or principal supervisors enrolled in the Principals Academy or Principal Supervisors Academy tracks.
Relay believes that educational leadership is most powerful when school and network leaders work together to implement change across an entire school system. For this reason, we give priority to teams of district and network leaders in the National Principals Academy application process.
We will offer a modified version of the full-year Principals/Principal Supervisor Academy for those who have completed the ILPD program above and wish to come back to complete the full fellowship (the second part of summer intensive and the four weekend intersessions.
