RELAY CONNECTICUT ADMISSIONS & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
In addition to the standard M.A.T. admissions and licensure requirements, participants in the Connecticut M.A.T. program must meet the following campus-specific admissions and licensure requirements.
In order to be admitted to Relay, the state of Connecticut requires that you hold an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. Applicants can search the College Source Online database to determine if their institution is regionally accredited.
Applicants must have secured a full-time classroom position within Relay Connecticut’s partner school network and must be selected by their school and or district before applying to the program in year 1. If employment is terminated at any point, graduate students have one month to regain employment as a PK-12 teacher before they are at risk of being administratively withdrawn from the program.
Connecticut Licensure Requirements
Relay offers an CT teaching licensure track for all graduate students in year 1 who meet the CT state eligibility requirements upon enrolling at Relay. Graduate students who successfully complete the program and meet the CT state eligibility requirements for licensure will receive a Resident Educator Certificate (REC).
Refer to Connecticut Teacher Certification/Licensure Guides for further information on Connecticut certification requirements.
